Diagnostic Assessments
When concerns arise about your or your child’s mental and emotional health, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is often the first step. The goal of this assessment is not to assign a diagnostic label, but to develop a thoughtful and thorough understanding of emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and the broader context in which they occur. Evaluations include a careful review of current concerns, developmental and medical history, family dynamics, and environmental factors that may be contributing to distress. This process creates space for open conversation, questions, and reflection, and leads to a collaborative treatment plan tailored to individual needs, strengths, and goals.
Psychopharmacology Consultations
At times, therapy alone may not be sufficient to support progress toward improved emotional and mental health. In these situations, a psychopharmacology consultation can help determine whether medication may be an appropriate part of treatment. Referrals often come from a therapist or primary care physician, though consultations are also available for individuals seeking a second opinion or a fresh perspective. These evaluations focus on understanding symptoms, prior treatments, medical history, and personal goals to guide thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations made in collaboration with patients and families.
Ongoing Psychiatric Care
Ongoing psychiatric care is provided for children, adolescents, and adults through medication management and/or psychotherapy, depending on individual needs and goals. Treatment is tailored to each person and evolves over time, with careful attention to progress, response to treatment, and changing circumstances. Care is delivered in partnership with individuals and families to identify the most appropriate supports and evidence-based interventions, with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, and continuity across the broader care team.
